Cathay™PFA-Folien sind chemisch hochgradig inert und lösungsmittelbeständig; sie sind für Flüssigkeiten, Gase, Feuchtigkeit und organische Dämpfe kaum durchlässig; sie weisen sehr gute dielektrische Eigenschaften, eine hohe Dauergebrauchstemperatur, günstige Antihaft- und Reibungseigenschaften sowie gute Witterungs- und optische Eigenschaften auf. Weitere Merkmale von PFA-Folien sind eine überragende Kriechfestigkeit bei hohen Temperaturen, eine ausgezeichnete Zähigkeit bei niedrigen Temperaturen und eine außergewöhnliche Flammbeständigkeit.
 
Diese Folien bieten die höchste Dauergebrauchstemperatur von 260 °C aller schmelzverarbeitbaren Fluorpolymerfolientypen. Sie bieten viele der Leistungseigenschaften von PTFE-Folien in einer klaren, transparenten Form.
