Why is Everflon™ FEP.

Chemical Resistance Thermal Stability Electrical Insulation
Virtually inert to most chemicals, solvents, and acids, with exceptions like molten alkali metals or certain halogenated compounds.
Excellent service range from cryogenic temperatures (around -400°F / -250°C) up to about 400°F (200°C) and higher for short periods.
• Continuous service temperature: –240 to 260 °C (–400 to 500 °F)
• Melting range: 300 to 310 °C (572 to 590 °F)
• Heat sealable
Low Friction & Non-Stick Weathering Mechanical
Very low coefficient of friction (similar to PTFE) and excellent non-stick properties.
Outstanding resistance to UV, ozone, and sunlight.

Good flexibility, high tensile strength (e.g., ~2100-4350 psi), high elongation (240-325%), and excellent impact strength (no break).

Optical Flammability Other

High transparency for visible and UV light (up to 98%).

 Non-flammable (V-0 UL 94 rating) with a high oxygen index (>95%).

Low moisture absorption (<0.1%), biocompatible, and FDA-approved.

Everflonultra™ FEP Foam Grade.

 

Everflonultra™ Foam resins ensure that insulation adheres to copper wire, which leads to improved return loss and provides other characteristics common to fluoropolymer products. Wire insulation that uses Everflonultra™ Foam resins achieve velocity factors approaching 85%.
